Black Friday in this category has a shape, and it's worth knowing before you spend a few hundred dollars on a mixer in October. Some products — KitchenAid stand mixers above all — have a documented, repeated history of late-November discounts at multiple retailers. Others have the occasional documented deal but not a dependable pattern. And for a lot of small baking gear, we simply couldn't find evidence of meaningful holiday markdowns, and we'd rather tell you that than imply a sale is coming.

Here's what we did: we looked for published, dated reporting on actual holiday prices for the products we cover — retail-coverage articles and deal-tracker threads with a price, a retailer and a date — and we cite each one below. What we did not do is guess percentages, extrapolate from "typical" sale patterns, or predict what anything will cost in November 2026. Where we say "undocumented" it means we couldn't find a dated source, not that it never happens.

What has a documented history of discounting

KitchenAid stand mixers — the most consistent holiday discount we could document

This is the clearest pattern in the category. In late November 2025, retail coverage reported the KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart at $350 against a $450 regular price — a $100 cut — available at KitchenAid, Amazon, Crate & Barrel, Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma and Wayfair at once, with the 3.5-quart Artisan Mini cut $120 and accessory bundles discounted alongside (Yahoo Shopping, Nov 25 2025). KitchenAid's own site ran a stand-mixer sale advertised as "up to $180 off" through November 30, 2025 (BlackerFriday). Deal-tracker commentary going back to 2017 records Classic-series promotions at big-box retailers in the same window. The point isn't any one number — prices differ by year, model and color — it's that a KitchenAid stand mixer at full price in the week after Thanksgiving is unusual.

Bosch Universal Plus — documented Amazon Black Friday pricing

Less widely covered than KitchenAid, but documented: a deal-coverage post dated November 28, 2025 recorded the Bosch Universal Plus (in a bundle with whips, dough hook and a hook extender) at $399 against a $519 regular price on Amazon — $120 off. Bosch's US distributor also runs rotating bundle promotions through the year (a baking blog documents a "build your bundle" sale of up to 20% off with add-ons), so Black Friday isn't the only window — but it's a documented one.

Zojirushi bread machines — occasional, retailer-driven, and not every year

The Virtuoso Plus is a machine people wait on, and the record is mixed. The clearest dated example we found is a Kohl's deal on November 28, 2022: $279.99 against a $400 list, reached by stacking three Kohl's coupon codes, plus Kohl's Cash. An earlier deal-tracker thread records an Amazon drop to $270.64 against a $375 regular price in June 2021 — mid-year, not November. What we could not find is evidence of a dependable, every-November Amazon discount — so treat a Zojirushi holiday deal as a possibility to watch for, not a plan to rely on.

Small appliances overall — the category-level view

For the big picture, Adobe's analysis of U.S. online spending reported that "appliances" as a category peaked at 19% off listed price during Cyber Week 2025, easing to about 15% off in the first week of December — versus 31% for electronics and 28% for toys (Adobe Analytics, Dec 2 2025). That's a category average across all appliances, not a prediction for any product here, but it sets expectations: this is a moderate-discount category, not a half-price one.

What we could not document

• KitchenAid hand mixers. Amazon's own data feed returns no price at all for our top hand-mixer pick (a pattern usually associated with tight brand price enforcement), which is why its review page says "check price." We found no dated holiday-pricing coverage for it. Undocumented.
• Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach and Braun mixers; Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach bread machines. These are frequently on some form of Amazon discount year-round (our live price file shows a list price above the selling price on several of them today), which makes a Black Friday "deal" hard to distinguish from a normal Tuesday. No dated holiday-specific coverage found. Undocumented.
• Pans, scales, whisks, bannetons, thermometers. No documented holiday pattern, and the stakes are small either way: the potential saving on a fifteen-dollar tool is a few dollars, while stock on the popular picks thins in December.

The number to compare against is not the retailer's "list" or "was" price — it's what the product has actually been selling for. That is what the live prices on this page are for: every price below comes from Amazon's data feed, is stamped with the date we fetched it, and disappears if our data is more than 48 hours old. Bookmark this page, note today's price on the pick you want, and when a November price shows up you'll know in a second whether it's real. When we post deals here, that's the test we'll apply too.
